Mumbai: A 42-year-old jogging woman died on the spot after being hit by a speeding car. Worli C Face on Sunday morning.
According to the police, the incident took place near Worli Milk Dairy at around 6.30 am.

According to eyewitnesses, the accident was so severe that the woman was thrown several feet in the air and died of severe head injuries.
Rajalakshmi was the CEO of a technology company. She was a fitness freak and a regular runner. Rajalakshmi was among the group of horse racers of Shivaji Park and this group regularly jogs on Sundays.
Her husband, who is also a runner, had reached Shivaji Park when he received a call from the police and his wife’s colleague that his wife had met with an accident and asked him to come to Worli.

The driver of the electric Tata Nexon car has been identified as sumer merchant (23), resident of Taddev. Sumer along with his friend was going towards Shivaji Park to drop off his girlfriend when the accident happened.
The businessman, who has been booked under various sections by the Worli police, will be produced in the Holiday Court at Dadar.
Eyewitnesses told the police that the speed of the car was very high.
The police are yet to decide on the IPC sections and have sent him for medical examination to check whether he was under the influence of alcohol.
Sumer told the police that he lost control of the vehicle and hit the divider before hitting the woman.
“We have collected the statements of eyewitnesses as well as CCTV footage and his blood samples and further investigation is underway,” a police officer said.
