The order was issued in a letter dated March 14.
Delhi: AAP MLAs Atishi, Saurabh Bhardwaj take oath as Delhi ministers
Sisodia was allotted bungalow number AB-17 on Mathura Road, Jain lived in bungalow number 2 on Raj Niwas Marg, 8 in Civil Lines. “The newly appointed ministers have been offered official accommodation. Once they accept, allotment letters will be issued,” said a PWD official.
According to Delhi government sources, even after the new allotment, the families of Sisodia and Jain will continue to live in their existing homes.
‘Order to vacate the house as per law’
A Delhi government official said, “It is a law that a minister is bound to vacate the government accommodation within 15 days after resigning from his office. This order is nothing but compliance of law.”
Sisodia and Jain are currently lodged in Tihar Jail following corruption charges. While Sisodia was arrested CBI Jain was arrested last month over alleged irregularities in the implementation of the Delhi Excise Policy Ed in a money laundering case in May last year. Both had resigned from their respective posts earlier this month.
Atishi took charge of key portfolios held by Sisodia, including PWD, power and education, among others. Bharadwaj now holds other portfolios including urban development, water and vigilance.
