“One year ago today I was on a flight home from the Dominican Republic in shock myself,” she wrote via Instagram on Friday, May 26, alongside several photos of herself and the late goodfellas star from their entire romance. “My whole world was unexpectedly turned upside down.”
The hairstylist added: “I will never forget the beautiful woman who sat next to me and didn’t say a word. She gently held my hand and walked me through the flight as I cried and looked out the window When we landed he looked at me and said everything would be alright. Your [sic] Will be OK.
Nitolo recalled meeting with Liotta’s sister on the way to Los Angeles. She said, “I don’t know what I would have done without Linda that night.” “It’s been an overwhelming year of pain, heartache, healing, growing and accepting what is.”
A year into his grieving journey, Nittolo is “learning to smile at what was.” He wrote: “It is believed that with time it becomes easier. No time will replace such a huge loss. You just learn to live with it and keep moving forward trusting that everything will be alright.”
The cosmetologist thanked Liotta’s daughter Carson, 24, and more of her loved ones for helping “keep me going every single day” as they mourn together. “20 years ago today my grandmother passed away,” concluded Nitolo. “She helped raise me. She was the second love of my life and one of my favorites of all time. Both on 5/26 ❤️❤️.”

The couple announced their engagement in December 2020. Liotta was already married michelle graceCarsen’s mother, from 1997 to 2004.
Earlier this year, Carson honored his late father at his Hollywood Walk of Fame ceremony, where he received a posthumous star. She was joined by Nitolo for the special occasion.
“I am very pleased to accept this honor on behalf of my father,” Carson said in February. “I couldn’t be more proud of him. He was a one of a kind actor and the best friend, brother and father anyone could ask for. … If you have Kiran in your life, you are lucky.”
