Deaf/autistic athlete Cade West’s inspiration, guts and determination, and approach to the game of basketball with the heart of a champion, was absolutely heartwarming and heartwarming. The humanity of his beloved coach, Russ May, was commendable.
On the other hand, the blatant incompetence of the California Community College Athletic Association. It was surprising and infuriating.

I commend Mr. Plaschke for his clever article about Kade West playing for Cerritos College. Perhaps we need to redefine what victory really is and when a “seizure” is clearly worth it.
