I’m here today to make the case for a unique space-saving technique that I’ve employed in my apartment for two years: Mount your TV ceiling. Do it You don’t need a bulky entertainment center taking up valuable wall space; whyOur TV may just float above your head, And look cool doing it. (But don’t tell Reddit, who will criticize you for keeping your set above eye level, Live for yourself, not for the approval of mean people online.)

What you need to mount your TV to the ceiling

to get to that “doctor’s office” Waiting Room ”watch at home, you will need:

  • a ceiling mount ,here i havewhich cost approx $28)
  • an under-shelf wire basket hence
  • a drill
  • four to six heavy toggle bolt
  • about 10 hole strap
  • a bunch of screw (i’m very technical)

key to success

Follow the mounting instructions that came with your mount, and Make sure you secure it well to a joist. I hired a pro for this move because i wasn’t make sure of my ability to nail in a joist as well as I can a wall beam, but if you think you can do it, just be sure to follow the instructions carefully so you don’t end tearing up Through your roof (and smashing your flatscreen).

“Buy a ceiling mount for your TV and install it”, isn’t a hack though. hack comes in my storage solutionwire basket is for, Yeset the kind that can slide under a shelfwith one open side, And make sure it’s wide enough to hold whatever you need near the TV, such as a video game console, streaming box, or DVD player., Remove the wires that will hold the basket to the bottom of a shelf with a wire cutter and you’ll be left with a box that’s open on one side and Shikhar.

Place the basket near the television and mark four to six spots Feather in the corners and in the middle where you will support it after hanging it, Hold the hole straps to the ceiling so that they go around the top strings of the basket at your chosen support points. and mark the ceiling Where will the screw go? For each hole strap, use a toggle bolt and a regular screw. I recommend putting toggle bolts on the interior of the basket so it will stay up securely when you screw the other side on. Your extra hole straps can be used to secure your wiring along the ceiling and down the wall. ,is here A Handy Guide to Hiding Wires, Stuff Your Gaming Console or whatever you need in the basket and you are ready to go.

advantage of this setup is, for me, Clear as day: You get your walls back and don’t need shelving to hold your TV. The only thing to be careful about is if you have low ceilings or one in your house is very tall, but it’s no more cumbersome than a ceiling fan or hanging light You have to step up.
